Meet Our Family of Spirits 

As we said, our entire family of spirits has won numerous awards, but did you know we produce each of these fantastic bourbons? 

David Nicholson 

In 1843, David Nicholson was a grocer in St. Louis, MO who created and sold his own bourbon whiskey. That recipe is still alive today in David Nicholson 1843 and David Nicholson Reserve. More information and tasting notes can be found on our David Nicholson page. 

Rebel Bourbon 

The Rebel Bourbon recipe was invented at what would later become the famous Stitzel-Weller distillery in 1849. Since purchasing the brand in 1999, we have continued producing this defiantly smooth wheated bourbon, keeping the iconic taste and rebel spirit it is now known around the world for. Discover that spirit of rebellion for yourself. 

Ezra Brooks 

Ezra Brooks was created in 1957 by Frank Silverman and bottled at Hoffman Distilling Company in Lawrenceburg, KY. We purchased Ezra Brooks in 1993, and we now offer six different varieties. Ezra 99 is a 99 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that features hints of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and spice. Learn more about Ezra Brooks and how you can have yourself an Ezra moment.  

Daviess County 

Its heritage dates back to 1874 with one of Kentucky’s first great bourbon distilleries, the Daviess County Distilling Company. In 2020, we reintroduced Daviess County Bourbon as three unique variants, each featuring a unique blend of our ryed and wheated mash bills. Daviess County includes a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a Cabernet Sauvignon Finish, and a French Oak Finish. You can find tasting notes for each on our page here. Blood Oath 

First introduced in 2015, this bourbon only comes around once a year, in limited quantities. Our Master Distiller, John Rempe, blends each annual batch himself to pursue something magical that will never exist again. This past year, we released Blood Oath Pact No. 7; you can read about it and previous pacts here.  

Our Master Distiller Has a YouTube Channel 

John Rempe is a certified food scientist with a bachelor’s degree in biology and over 20 years of experience in the distillation of spirits. He is heavily involved in the creation and crafting of Lux Row Distiller’s entire bourbon family. He is also building an audience on YouTube with his channel Off The Still, where he does bourbon whiskey tastings, introduces new Lux Row products, and shares his passion and thoughts about whiskey. 

We have Peacocks! 

A while back, we introduced you to the Lux Row peacocks. These beautiful birds can be seen all around our distillery. As the story goes, they were part of the purchase deal when buying the farm where the distillery was built. If you come around in the spring, particularly in May, you have the best chance to see them.
