Job: Visitor Center Manager
Duties: I am responsible for making sure our visitors have the best experience possible when they come see us here at Lux Row Distillers. That includes anything from giving tours to planning what type of experiences our guests will want in the future.
Education: I have a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bellarmine University, and an MBA from Campbellsville University (both located here in Kentucky).
How did you end up at Lux Row? I have been in the bourbon hospitality industry since 2014. Prior to this, I worked at a large distillery with a big brand and long history. I found this position at Lux Row, and knew it would be a great chance to be part of something new.
Favorite cocktail: Currently a Gold Rush (bourbon, lemon juice, and honey syrup), though I always love a good Manhattan.
Favorite place to go get that cocktail: My favorite place to get a cocktail is in Lexington, at Bourbon on Rye. Lexington has a great bourbon culture!
Favorite spot in Bardstown: Main Street. You can’t go wrong shopping at all the local stores and grabbing some food at Mammy’s or a drink at Talbott Tavern.
Place you’ve always wanted to go visit and why: A dream would be to go visit Ireland and explore their distilleries. I’d love to see the differences.
Last song you listened to: I am usually a today’s hits person, but the last song was actually Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Sometimes you have to listen to the classics.
Last book you read: The last book I read was actually an Audible Original called Caffeine — it was about how humans can’t consume enough of it (said while drinking coffee).
Favorite day trip from Bardstown: If you’ve got an extra day in Kentucky, head to Lexington. They have more distilleries, horse country, Keeneland Horse Track, and a great bar culture. Check it out!
What’s the best part about working for Lux Row Distillers? The best part of Lux Row is how intimate it is. In jobs before, I was just a number. Here, my opinions and thoughts matter and are heard. There is nothing better than communication.
